ProEditor makes the definition and editing of file property information
a lot easier then through SolidWorks. Furthermore it provides the
option to save and reuse text, share it between users, input mass
and other properties and more....
But what is the "file property information"?
It is information stored within each file. This information can
be viewed through i.e. Windows Explorer and contains predefined
fields (like editor, last changed etc.) and user definable fields.
These fields are perfectly suited to store title block information
or properties a PDM or other application may need to read or modify
directly. SolidWorks drawing documents can be set up to have notes
linked to the file properties, so that they show i.e. revision,
editor, page...
The advantage with this method being used for filling out title
blocks is not only a more structured and automated (and hence more
productive and errorless) way, you also have a consistent look of
your title blocks.
In part- or assembly documents you are able to define fields and
values for either the whole document or configuration-specific.
