ProEditor

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

What is ProEditor?
ProEditor is a Plug-In for SolidWorks to create and modify the so called "file properties".
Which Document Types does ProEditor support?
All SolidWorks documents (Drawings, Assemblies, Parts). Configuration-dependent properties are fully supported for part and assembly documents.
Does ProEditor need to be customized to our standards and fields?
No. The fields are defined in your document (-template). ProEditor reads in all the fields and displays them alphabetically. To achieve a grouped display you can name the fields starting with (same) numbers or text (Rev1Date, Rev1Name,...).
What does ProEditor offer beyond similar Editors?
• Create and reuse any number of text-blocks and share them with other users.
• Insert mass, density, volume and area information in freely definable units into your title block.
• Simplified insertion of current date, user name and document path etc.
• Does not need to be customized, it uses your existing documents and utilizes definitions made through the document templates.
• Full support for configurations, common properties and MS-Office properties.
